I guess you're proud to be different

To be honest, the thought of going back to school gives me a horribly sickening feeling. Strange thing as a week ago, I was beyond excited. The only thing I miss is New York City, upstate New York drives me absolutely mad! Ditto to college. Good shows, cheap shopping and my roommate manage to keep me sane enough to endure.

Now I'm aware my mood changes faster than the hair on a shaved leg, but the 'why' is what I'm yet to discover.

On a lighter note, I've become reacquainted with my favorite roller-blading, all white wearing musical nerd, Tom Vek. Big props to the shuffle control on my iTunes library for tuning in to, "That can be arranged." Now, I can barely listen to anything other than "We Have Sound," his 2005 debut that unfortunately remains as his only album to date. Tom, if you're out there and somehow come across this (which is highly unlikely, I know, but nevertheless - still likely!) do hurry up! It's 2008 in case you haven't realized already. Other than that, "We Have Sound" is a semi-eletronic masterpiece. Any chance of seeing you live, then?

it's ok to repeat:

that can be arranged

a little word in your ear

things are here to stay

I ain't saying my goodbye's

nothing but greenlights

dang it, listen to the the whole album!

Niggy Tardust

You may or may not know this, but I love finding amazing cover versions of songs that I love.

BINGO!

Saul Williams - Sunday, Bloody Sunday

sounds much like the original with more of a slight electronic guitar-driven sound. I especially love the, "oh oh oh's" in between the verses and such and his monologue-esque verse, "...and it's true we are immune.." What a stellar job, I'm immensely impressed.

check it ouuuttt yo!

I'm not sure why I didn't find out about this song earlier, I thought I was a better Saul Williams fan. The track is off the album, "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust"

Here's another side of Williams you should see:
